Movement and everyday travel
From the beginning, the regeneration was shaped around how people experience the town centre at ground level.
Whether walking or wheeling, movement has been designed to feel simple and natural, prioritising people over traffic.

Routes between the station approach, Market Place, leisure facilities and green spaces are clear and direct, making it easier to move through the town centre.

The 529‑space car park at Carnival Hub is located at the edge of the town centre, supporting local businesses while helping keep the centre focused on people.

Cycle parking is provided across the regeneration area, alongside facilities designed to support everyday cycling such as bike repair stands at Carnival Hub, Peach Place, Elms Field and Wokingham railway station.

Electric vehicle charging has also been built into the scheme, including at Carnival Hub, with infrastructure designed so it can be expanded as travel patterns continue to change and demand for lower-emission travel grows.
