Looking ahead

Collectively, these choices reflect a practical approach to sustainability, bringing together building performance, green space and how the town centre is used. 

Rather than focusing on individual features, the regeneration has been designed to work holistically, from how buildings perform to how people move through and spend time in the town centre. 

With the town centre regeneration now complete, sustainability can be seen in how the town centre functions in practice, supporting daily life while remaining adaptable for the future. This approach aligns with the priorities set out in the council’s Climate Emergency Action Plan, including reducing emissions from buildings and transport and increasing green infrastructure.
