Me2 Club annual survey for young people 2025: You said, we did
In 2025, local charity Me2 Club created a survey open to all children and young people with additional needs and disabilities in Wokingham Borough. It asked what they think about support in our local area.
Thank you to all the children and young people who completed the survey.
And thank you to Me2 Club for bringing the feedback together and sharing it with the Area SEND Partnership.
Our response: December 2025
It’s great to hear what is working well for children and young people. We know there’s still more to do. We want to make sure all children and young people:
- have positive experiences
- build independence skills
- achieve fantastic things

You can also read a summary of the actions below.
Key actions
Education and inclusion
We’re working on things to make school and preparing for adulthood easier, including:
- more training for schools to support you through ordinarily available provision
- a conference for schools in January 2026 to share what works well
- making a video with young people to explain your choices at 16
- improving our SEND Local Offer website so it’s easier to plan for adulthood
- finding ways for young people to join our SEND audits
- expanding free travel training so more people can learn to travel independently
- developing a post-16 SEND Employability Hub with more chances for work experience and supported internships
Children's social care
- Our CAN Network Coordinator will encourage more young people to use this service. We want to help you find the information you need more easily.
- New short breaks activities are being planned and young people will help design them. This work will start in early 2026.
- We will create a “positive about disability” scheme to help local places be more welcoming and inclusive.
- We will offer services in different locations so they are easier to get to.
Adult's social care
- We’ll keep supporting Local Offer Live days, market events and workshops, to hear your views and make more people aware of how we can help.
- We’ll improve the adult's social care part of the website with videos about housing and support.
- We’ll continue to share information about local respite services and day opportunities, so you know what’s available.
- We’ll create easy‑read guides to explain how direct payments work.
Physical health
-
We will run webinars with local GPs about reasonable adjustments, so appointments work better for you.
Mental health and neurodiversity
- Berkshire Healthcare is redesigning its website. We have asked people to join focus groups, which were shared on social media.
- Young people said it needs clearer, more accessible information. We will make sure this is included in the redesign work.
