Schools told us they would find it helpful to have a guide to share with families to help them navigate and prepare for the move to secondary school.

We did

We worked together with SENCOs and families to create a guide about moving to secondary school.

The guide includes information about:

• choosing a secondary school
• applying for a school place, with or without an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)
• the support available in secondary schools
• practical ways to help your child get ready for the move

Creating a video about preparing for adulthood

You said

Young people from Say YES asked us to create a video about preparing for adulthood. They wanted it to show options available after leaving school, including sixth form, college and supported internships. 

We did

We worked with Say YES to make the video. Young people planned the content and led decisions about what should be included and what they wanted to say.
