Household waste
Most households have a fortnightly household waste collection from black bins. Find out when your bins and waste will be collected.
A few households are on a weekly blue bin bag collection.
Households on fortnightly collections
Household waste is emptied from your black-wheeled rubbish bin every fortnight. This helps reduce our environmental impact and make essential savings. Find out when your bins and waste will be collected.
Your black-wheeled rubbish bin holds 180 litres, about two full blue bags’ worth of rubbish. You may need to recycle more or reduce your waste as we’ll only take one full bin per collection. Read more about what goes in your household waste.
Please be aware that blue bags cannot be put out for collection next to your new bin, but can be used within your new bin, if you have some left over.
Households on a weekly bag collection
If you are on a weekly blue bag collection you will have received an annual allocation of 54 blue bags in February or March 2024. As these need to last you all year, only present one per week.
You can no longer buy additional bags during this time, so maximise their use and increase your recycling.
You will receive your next annual delivery in February or March 2025.
