Am I eligible for a resident parking permit?

You can apply for a Residents Parking Permit if you live in a property that is situated within that parking permit zone but your property must meet the following criteria for you to be eligible for a permit:

• You can apply for up to two permits if you do not have a driveway or a garage (this includes living space that was created by converting a garage)
• You can apply for one permit if you have a driveway with space for one car or a garage (this includes living space that was created by converting a garage)

You are not eligible for a resident parking permit if: 

• You have a driveway with space for two cars
• You have a driveway with space for one car and a garage ( this includes living space that was created by converting a garage)

How much is a resident parking permit?

Resident permits are now £55 a year for the first permit and £105 per year for a second permit, where eligible. Payments can be made online at the end of your application and once the application is approved by our parking team your permit will be activated.

Residents Carer Permits are £5.40 a year, there is no limit to the number of Carer Permits that may be issued to each eligible property.

Concessionary permits

Applicants in receipt of the State Pension are now subject to the same terms and charges as all other residents.

Free resident permits will continue to be available only to residents in receipt of Pension Credit and/or eligible Blue Badge holders. 

Proof of Disabled Persons Blue Badge and/or Residents in receipt of Pension Credit will need to be uploaded during application.
