Apply for or renew a carer permit

You do not need to have a resident parking permit to apply for a carer permit. Carer permits may be issued to a registered address within a Resident Permit Parking Zone. This is to allow a Carer visiting a property within a Permit Parking Zone to park in a residents' permit parking  space with a valid permit.

Is my carer eligible for a carer permit?

Your carer can apply for a carer permit if your meet the following criteria:

  • You live within the permitted zone 
  • You are over 60, registered disabled or receiving care from a registered care organisation and you are is dependent on a carer making frequent visits.
  • You do not own or have regular use of a vehicle.

The carer permit is applied for by, and issued to, your carer organisation for the vehicle used by the carer.

Your carer will need to provide proof of vehicle ownership and a supporting letter from their employer.
