Support for specific needs and resource bases
Some mainstream schools have support for specific needs available.
Children with hearing loss
These mainstream nurseries and schools are acoustically treated. This means the rooms have been adapted to create a better listening environment.
- Ambleside Nurseries for children aged 0 to 5 years
- Emmbrook Infant School for children aged 4 to 7 years
- Emmbrook Junior School for children aged 7 to 11 years
Resource bases
Some mainstream schools have resource bases.
These provide support for children and young people with:
- an EHCP
- specific special educational needs (SEN).
Children and young people who attend a resource base may split their time between specialist spaces and mainstream classes. This depends on the child or young person's needs and the way support is provided at the school.
