Areas for improvement
Areas for improvement
The report sets out 6 areas for improvement that the Wokingham partnership needs to address together.
Working together across services
Improve how education, health and social care work together. This includes better joint planning, decision-making and information sharing. This will help make sure services are joined up, fair, and meet the needs of children and young people.
Equipment service
Make sure the improvement plan for the equipment service is carried out in full. Progress should be checked regularly so that children and young people get the right assessments and support without delays.
Enough high-quality services (sufficiency)
Put plans into action to make sure there are enough good-quality services. This includes:
Clear communication
Improve communication with:
- professionals
- parents and carers
- children and young people
This includes communicating about the Local Offer, so people understand what services are available, what is being done to improve them, and the impact of this work.
Annual health checks for children with a learning disability (LD)
Review how children with a learning disability are identified for annual health checks. This includes:
- making sure they are correctly recorded on GP systems
- promoting the checks
- clearly explaining the benefits to families
Health service improvement plans
Make sure improvement plans are fully carried out and regularly reviewed for:
- occupational therapy
- neurodevelopmental pathways
- respiratory physiotherapy
- CAMHS learning disability service
This will help ensure children and young people get timely assessments and the right support based on their needs.
