Message in a bottle guide

If you take medicine or have a health condition, it’s important that emergency workers know about it if you get sick at home.

Message in a Bottle is a simple way to share this information.

What goes in the bottle:

  • Your full name
  • Your doctor’s name, address and phone number
  • Any medical conditions you have
  • Any medicines you take
  • Any allergies
  • Who to contact (family or friends)
  • If you have pets, what help they need

What to do:

  • Fill out the form with your details.
  • Put the form in the special bottle.
  • Put the bottle in your fridge.
  • Stick the green cross sticker on your front door so emergency workers know to look in your fridge.

Where to get a bottle:

  • Pharmacies in Wokingham
  • Tesco Wokingham
  • Morrisons supermarket
  • Some libraries in Wokingham

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service are also offering them when they make house visits

Visit the Lions message in a bottle website for further information about the scheme, order a bottle to be posted to your home (postage will need to be paid) or download a new form to go in your current bottle.
