How we manage finances as the Deputyship Team

When it’s agreed that we will manage someone’s money, we will:

• Apply to the Court of Protection and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) so we have the authority to act for the person
• Help them get all the benefits they’re entitled to
• Set a weekly budget for them
• Pay any debts they owe
• Arrange payment for regular essential bills
• Keep track of their money
• Work with the Court of Protection, DWP, banks, utility companies, and other organisations
