Sparks Community Award

What is Sparks
Sparks is a fund that gives money to local people and groups in Wokingham Borough to help make life better for adults by creating stronger, more connected communities.
The fund seeks projects that support adults who may need extra help due to disability, mental or physical health conditions or caring responsibilities.
The award offers grants from £100 to £2,000 for projects to reduce isolation, strengthen neighbourhood connections, and help people take part in community life - creating the kind of support networks that mean people can live independently and well.
The fund is seeking projects that meet at least one of the following Social Care Future aims:
-
Make it easy for everyone to feel part of their community
-
Support people to live and stay in a place they call home
-
Help people to do more of the things they love
Whether you’re an individual, grassroots group, or an established organisation with new ideas, Sparks can help turn your ideas into reality.
Ideas to spark change!
We are especially keen to hear about ideas that include and value people from a wide range of backgrounds, cultures, identities and abilities.
Perhaps you have something you are passionate about that could be developed into something special for the community to enjoy. You could use your funding for things like refreshments, venue hire, advertising, or equipment, to help with:
- Developing a new group
- Holding events
- Putting on an activity
- Offering a new service.
Activities will be for the benefit of Wokingham Borough residents.
We will prioritise projects that are not already offered and that fill a need in the local community.
See the ideas page for examples of the types of community projects that could support Social Care Future. Whether your idea is similar or completely different, we’d love to hear from you!
