Local Plan 2045

A local plan sets out a vision and framework for the future development of an area, with policies used to decide planning applications.

The new Wokingham Borough Local Plan 2045 will help guide development, including the future of our town centres, the management of land for different types of development including housing, employment and infrastructure. The plan will allocate land to help meet the need for development, particularly housing.

The new plan will replace our current local plans, including the Wokingham Borough Local Plan Update (LPU), which is currently at examination, with adoption anticipated in 2027. We are starting the new plan now in response to national changes to the planning system.
