Everything you need to know ahead of Maiden Erlegh & Whitegates by-election
There is also a by-election for Redhatch Ward on Earley Town Council on the same day

Residents of Maiden Erlegh & Whitegates Ward will go to the polls on Thursday (5 June) to elect a new borough councillor.
In addition to the vacant seat on Wokingham Borough Council, there is also a by-election for Redhatch Ward on Earley Town Council on the same day.
The candidates for both by-elections have now been published on the council's website.
Some residents will be able to vote in both elections, but others may only be eligible to vote in one or the other. It is important to read your poll card, as it will tell you which elections you are eligible to vote in.
It is important to remember to bring photo ID if you are voting in person, with polling stations open from 7am to 10pm.
Lots of forms of ID are accepted, such as a driving licence, passport and blue badge, but bringing a poll card by itself will not entitle you to vote.
Make sure you read your poll card, as it will tell you where to vote and remind you to bring photo ID.
If you have a postal vote but don’t post it back in time, you can drop it to the council’s Shute End offices in Wokingham, or at your polling station. If you do this, you must complete an additional form with an authorised member of staff.
If your postal ballot is spoilt or damaged, you can get a replacement up to 5pm on polling day by contacting our elections team.
The count for both by-elections will take place overnight once the polls have closed and we will share the result on our website and on social media.
