A grand opening has taken place to celebrate the opening of German retailer Kütchenhaus, a state-of-the-art kitchen showroom, in Elms Walk in Wokingham town centre.

Elms Walk is part of the borough council’s multi-million-pound town regeneration. Kütchenhaus signed a new lease with the council earlier this year and offers the latest in German-engineered kitchen design and living collections.

Deputy Borough Mayor, Cllr Adrian Mather, attended the grand opening on Thursday 16 November and cut a ribbon to officially open the new showroom. The 994 square foot showroom features six different spaces, showcasing the latest in kitchen and living design with appliances from brands including AEG, NEFF, Caple and ASKO.

Kütchenhaus Wokingham is co-owned by father and son Marc and Tony Maritz alongside their business partners, AC Milan and England footballer Ruben Loftus-Cheek and his brother Isaac Loftus-Cheek.

Residents planning a kitchen extension or replacing their existing kitchen can visit Kütchenhaus Wokingham to see the latest in German contemporary kitchen designs, handles or handleless finishes, laminate or solid stone worktops, storage solutions and appliances from leading brands.

Cllr Mather said: “I am honoured to officially open Kütchenhaus, our latest new business, to Elms Walk. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed chatting to owners Marc and Tony and business partner Isaac. It’s been wonderful viewing the new kitchen showroom’s design spaces and I am sure residents will be inspired to turn their dream kitchen into a reality. On behalf of Wokingham Borough Council, I’d like to extend a warm welcome to Kütchenhaus.”

Director of Kütchenhaus Wokingham, Marc Maritz, said: “We were very fortunate to find such a fantastic location here at Elms Walk. The locals are very friendly, which has given us a real sense of community within the area. I hope we bring a warm presence and look forward to providing only the best possible service with honesty and pride. We want to build fantastic relationships with everyone who walks through our doors.”

Executive member for business and economic development, Cllr Clive Jones, said: “Elms Walk is our latest redevelopment and continues to attract new businesses. We’re delighted to welcome global brand such as Kütchenhaus as the town expands its offering to residents and the wider community.”

The event was also attended by various manufacturers and designers from the kitchen and retail industry. Freshly prepared canapés by Salty Olive, an independent and authentic Spanish pinchos restaurant also located in Elms Walk and officially opened this summer by Borough Mayor, Cllr Beth Rowland, were served to guests alongside welcome drinks.
