Schools

Matthewsgreen primary school and community centre reserved matters application was approved in February 2018. (ref: 172331). A new primary school will be built in Matthewsgreen as part of the development. The school will have 1 class per year (1 form-entry), with the ability to expand to 2 classes per year. The school is currently under construction.

Community facilities

A new pub and restaurant, The Oakingham Belle, opened its doors in September 2019. The pub was named after a local Wokingham barmaid from the 18th century 'Molly Mogg' who was also known as the Oakingham Belle. This new pub has brought 40 new jobs to Wokingham.

Matthewsgreen primary school and community centre reserved matters application was approved in February 2018. (ref: 172331). The development will include a neighbourhood centre with shops and other community uses. There will also be a community centre that will be attached to the primary school. It is proposed that there will be a restaurant and/or pub as part of the Keephatch Beech site and it is likely that there will also be a Park and Ride scheme, with buses into Reading.
