Who is eligible for a Disabled Facilities Grant

To get a grant, you or someone else living in the house must:

• have a permanent and substantial disability
• intend to live in the property during the grant condition period (10 years)

The person who applies must be either the:

• owner
• tenant
• landlord

We need to be satisfied that the work is:

• necessary and appropriate to meet the person with a disability’s needs
• reasonable and can be done, depending on the age and condition of the property

The grant will not be paid if you start work on your property before we approve your application.
