Elevate
Elevate provides information, advice, and guidance to young people in Wokingham, who are not in education, employment or training (and young people aged up to 24 with SEND). Elevate can help you with career planning, education, jobs, apprenticeships, training opportunities, work experience, and volunteering.

Smart Works (and similar organisations)
Smart Works can help you prepare for interviews, help with writing your cv, and support you with a new interview outfit.
If we can not source support with a new interview outfit, we will purchase a new outfit to help you when you go to your first job interview.
Getting ready for work: financial support
We can offer financial support with:
- Buying clothes for an interview
- Travelling to a job interview
- The first month's travel to work if it's not within walking distance
- Fees gaining industry accreditation (dependent on needs assessment)
- Applying for ID documentation such as birth certificate, passport or driving license
We can also support you with opening a bank account.
Internships with the Council
We understand employment opportunities are important for Care leavers. We offer a Summer Internship programme for a Care Leaver with the council, and we aim to establish more internships for Care Leavers in the future. Your PA can support and give you further information and guidance on this.
Apprenticeships with the Council
If you are interested in an apprenticeship with Wokingham Borough Council, we can guarantee you an interview providing you meet the minimum requirements of the job role being advertised. Your PA can support and give you further information and guidance on this.
Young Experts
We will provide you with opportunities to work for Wokingham Borough Council as a young expert.
