Since the works on the final sections of this project began in early 2025, we’ve been sending regular email updates to our South Wokingham community newsletter mailing list.
While we’ll update this site as often as we can, urgent and more detailed updates will go out via the mailing list so we strongly recommend signing up for these newsletters if you think you could be affected.

- 14 January - Announcing first round of initial works
- 30 January - Announcing slight delays to initial works
- 7 February - Announcing progress of initial works
- 24 February - Detailed preview of the finished new road
- 13 March - How we’re mitigating the environmental impact
- 18 March - Confirming timeframe for the 2025/6 Western Gateway closures
- 7 April - Confirming some shorter road closures and closure of public footpaths
- 14 April - Preview of nature parks (SANGs) which Balfour will start and the developers will finish
- 25 April - Preview of the new South Wokingham development as a whole
- 9 May - Latest road and footpath closures for South Wokingham Distributor Road
- 19 June - South Wokingham Distributor Road - main works to start this summer
- 3 July - Road closure dates finalised for 21 July
- 18 July - Roundabout closures start Monday
- 25 August - Date confirmed for next phase of roundabout works
- 5 September - Reminder of upcoming road closure
- 16 September - Minimising disruption caused by ongoing work
- 8 October - Easthampstead Road closures moved back
- 10 November - Heathlands Road junction works starting soon
- 27 November - Changes to temporary lights
- 9 December - Dates for Heathlands Road junction work adjusted
