Explore your next career move at job fair

Anyone looking for work, considering a career change or exploring training opportunities, is invited to attend a free job fair in Woodley next month.

The Oakwood Centre is hosting the event on Monday 12 October, from 10am to 2pm, bringing together a range of national and local employers with live vacancies.

Wokingham Borough Council is organising the event alongside the Department for Work and Pensions and it is free to attend, with no booking needed.

Cllr Mark Ashwell, executive member for economic development, said: “Good employment opportunities are important for both our residents and our local economy. This free event brings together employers, training providers and support organisations under one roof, making it easier for people to find opportunities that match their skills and ambitions.

“We are proud to be holding this at The Oakwood Centre in Woodley as a great place to do business. I’m really looking forward to attending and we’ve had lots of success with the previous job fairs we’ve organised. We want everyone to have the opportunity to access good-quality employment, training and support, whatever their background or circumstances.”

In addition to finding work opportunities, residents can speak to organisations that offer support with CV writing, job searching, apprenticeships and training.

Visitors will have the opportunity to speak directly with employers, find out more about routes into work and access one-to-one advice to support their next career move. 

A range of sectors will be represented including, care, hospitality, local government, and construction. A full list of employers that are attending is available on the council’s Engage platform.
