Dinton Pastures hosts first Medieval Jousting event
Come and have some fun on 13 and 14 September.

Get ready to travel back in time and join a fun weekend at the Medieval Jousting event at Dinton Pastures Country Park in Hurst on 13 and 14 September. This brand-new event features medieval jousting on horses, a bird of prey display flight with a chance to handle some magnificent birds, a food market and much more.
In collaboration with Knights of Middle England from Warwickshire, a team of expert horsemen and women from varying equestrian, stunt and performance backgrounds will transform the field at Dinton Pastures into a show-stopping, medieval jousting display.
A ticket covers a full day from 10am to 4.30pm. Tickets prices are:
- Adult £8
- Child: £4
- Family (two adults and three children): £23
- Carers: £6.40
- Children aged two years and under are free
Dinton Pastures also welcomes family run business Berkshire Birds of Prey from Bracknell to the event. Birds taking part in the flying display include Lightning McQueen (a Harris hawk), Bella (a barn owl), Stitch (a long-eared owl), Noddy (a kesterel), Pumba (a tawny owl) and Fagin (a western screech owl). Please note if the wind is too strong, the display flight will not go ahead.
Visitors can also get up close and personal to the birds of prey by taking part in a memorable handling experience.
There will be plenty of food and drink available too. Visitors can enjoy a barbecue by JL Butchers and drinks from The Happy Bee Coffee Truck, The Rollin Inn Bar and much more.
Executive member for Economic Development, Sport, Leisure and the Arts, Cllr Mark Ashwell said:
“It’s set to be an unforgettable weekend of excitement, action and culture at our first Medieval Jousting event. This event is suitable for people of all ages and will be a great day out.
“We’ve been fortunate to work in partnership with various organisations to run many exciting events at our country parks. Events like this generate income for the council whilst also building a sense of community and encouraging people to enjoy the great outdoors.”
