Getting help for emotional wellbeing for children and young people

Urgent, crisis or emergency referrals

If you are concerned that there is a risk to the life of a child or young person call 999. Otherwise, call the NHS on 111 and select ‘mental health’ for guidance or advice.

Non-urgent support

Parents and carers of children and young people attending an education setting are initially recommended to discuss support options with the Special Educational Needs and Disability Co-ordinator (SENDCo) or school mental health lead. You may also want to visit the Ordinarily Available Provision which outlines reasonable adjustments which may support your child/young person within the school setting.
