Wokingham area SEND priority action plan

January 2026 inspection 

In January 2026, Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) carried out an area SEND inspection of the Wokingham local area partnership.

They looked at how well all services work together to support and improve the experiences and outcomes of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Priority Action Plan

Following the inspection, we’ve developed an Area SEND Priority Action Plan. It explains how education, health and care services will work together to improve support, experiences and outcomes for children and young people with SEND.

We developed the plan with children and young people with SEND, parents and carers, and partners from education, health and social care.

The plan focuses on:

• the 3 areas that inspectors said needed urgent action
• 6 other areas where improvements are needed
