Supported living: shared housing or your own space

Supported Living can be a good choice if you want to live more independently but still need help all day and night.

There are two types of Supported Living:

Shared Houses

  • You live with 3 or 4 other people.
  • You have your own bedroom.
  • You share spaces like the kitchen and living room.
  • You also share support with the other people.

Single Homes

  • You live in your own flat or bungalow.
  • These homes are often close together.
  • Support staff are nearby and can help when needed.

We will ask you:

  • What is important to you about where you live
  • For example, do you need to be near:
    • shops or supermarkets
    • your job or day centre
    • buses or trains

We will try to match you with people who have similar needs and interests.
