We are looking to recruit a Part time Allotment Maintenance Assistant to join our team and play a key role in supporting our allotments.
Part-time, 12 hours per week, over two days, 7am to 1pm. Two days between Tuesday and Friday, to be discussed at interview.
About the team
We are a vibrant team which values teamwork and a love for the environment. We have strong community values and are a social team. You will work directly to the Allotment Officer, helping to maintain and develop the town council’s eight allotment sites.
About the role
The successful candidate will work with our Allotment Officer to maintain our 8 allotments, spread across the town area.
We are looking for a self-sufficient, resilient individual with an eye for detail who will take care of our allotments to a high standard so that our tenants can enjoy them.

To be shortlisted to interview for this position, your application will clearly evidence:
- Your skills in DIY and the use of power and petrol tools
- Your ability to manage your own time effectively
- Your experience of engaging with and working with a wide range of different people
- Your knowledge of horticulture or an enthusiasm to learn on the job
- A full UK manual driving licence (access provided to work vehicles shared with other members of the team)

Benefits
£13.50 per hour (£8,424 per annum, based on a 12-hour week)
We also offer a generous holiday allowance of 5 weeks, plus bank holidays and membership of the Local Government pension scheme.
