Local tips (recycling centres)

Local tips (recycling centres)

Coronavirus update - recycling centres (tips) now open

Recycling centres (tips) have reopened. The centres are open every day between 8am and 6pm however this is only a limited opening.

Do not visit the recycling centre if you have COVID-19 symptoms.

Book before you visit

You will need to book before you visit our recycling centres at Longshot Lane, Bracknell, or Smallmead, Reading. You won't be allowed to enter unless you have booked an online slot. If all slots are booked, more will be available from midnight for the  next available day. You will be asked for your name upon arrival. We recommend that you bring a copy of your booking confirmation with you but you do not need to print the confirmation email to access the site.

Limited bookings - only visit if essential

Bookings should only be made if a visit is essential. If your waste can safely be stored at home it should be.

Social distancing rules will apply - keep a distance of 2 metres while at any centre. Only a limited amount of vehicles will be allowed on the site at any one time and there will be limited interaction with staff (who will be unable to assist with unloading  waste). Display your proof of address through closed windows and use contactless payment.

Find out more about the rules and the new temporary booking system by visiting the re3 waste and recycling centres website.

Book now

We apologise for any issues you may have experienced in booking a slot for the recycling centres. These have now been resolved via a new booking system and slots can be reserved again. Existing bookings will still stand. Thank you for your patience.

There's no need to login to the booking system. Just choose your slot and type your details:

Due to high demand, please only make one booking a week.

Make sure your email address is typed correctly as this is how you will receive your booking confirmation. (If you can't see your email confirmation, check your junk folder.) You should also get a reminder 24 hours before your visit.

- Arrive within chosen time-frame

- Bring proof of residency with you, such as a driving licence or a Council Tax bill

- While we recommend that you bring a copy of your booking confirmation with you, you do not need to print the confirmation email to access the site - we'll ask for your name when you arrive

- If using a commercial or commercial type vehicle, you will also need to apply for a commercial vehicle permit prior to your visit

- Double-bag contaminated waste
