Apply for a car park permit

New parking permit system

A new online parking permit system went live in September 2023, offering drivers more control and flexibility, as well as providing reduced waiting time for renewals and new applications.

If you currently have a parking permit that hasn’t reached its expiry date, then it is still valid and you can continue to use this permit until it is due to expire.

You will then need to apply for a new permit through the new system. You will not receive a physical permit as all permit information will be stored online with parking inspectors having access to all valid permit information electronically.

Making changes to your permit

If you have a permit and you need to make changes to it, such as changing your vehicle or adding a new or temporary vehicle, prior to your permit expiring, this is no longer possible on the old system.

Any changes you made to your permit on the old system will not feed through to our parking team and you may receive a penalty charge notice (PCN).

If you need to make changes before your current permit expires, please contact us using our Highways General Enquiry Form to make us aware so we can cancel your existing permit. This will allow you to apply for a new permit on the new system. During the approvals process our parking team will calculate any deductions to take into account any period of time lost on your previous permit. You will then need to pay the remaining balance prior to your new permit being activated.

How to switch between multiple vehicles

Once you are set up on the system you can add up to five vehicles but you must ensure that the vehicle parked in the residents parking area is active on your account by ticking the primary vehicle box if you have more than one vehicle on your permit.

The permit holder will be responsible for ensuring that only one vehicle is active on the permit at any one time. The permit must be valid for the vehicle at all times when the vehicle is parked in the relevant car park as specified by your permit.

You can change this at anytime but failure to do so could result in a PCN.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact us using our Highways General Enquiry Form.
