Road closures for community Christmas events in 2025
Everyone's excited about the festive season, but be sure to plan your journey around local celebrations
Many of our communities are gearing up to celebrate the festive season, so make sure you're ready if you're travelling in the area.
Peach Street, Denmark Street and Rose Street in Wokingham will be closed throughout Sunday 30 November for the Lions Club's Wokingham Winter Carnival. Parking is limited, so consider coming by bus.
The railway between Bracknell and Reading, including Wokingham, Winnersh, Winnersh Triangle and Earley, will be closed all day for maintenance. Buses will replace all South Western Railway and Great Western Railway services.
Meanwhile, London Road in Twyford will be shut from the crossroads to Jubilee Corner on the evening of Friday 5 December for the Twyford Together Christmas Fayre.
There'll also be two events on Sunday 7 December: the Woodley Christmas Extravaganza from 10am to 3pm at Woodley precinct and Reading Christian Motorcyclists' Reading Toy Run.
The annual toy run goes from Thames Valley Science Park in Shinfield to High Close School in Wokingham via Lower Earley Way and Reading Road with rolling closures.
Don’t forget you can always check all disruption on the roads, whether it’s due to public events or routine roadworks, on our interactive map.
