Wokingham's town centre regeneration - recognised at the highest level
Wokingham town's regeneration has been independently recognised by the most respected planning, property and public sector organisations in the country. The awards span more than seven years, reflecting the lasting impact the project has had on the town.
From national planning institutes to European property and development bodies, the project has been assessed by industry experts at every level and consistently found to represent best practice: innovative in its financial approach, ambitious in its design, and rooted in the needs of the community it serves. The regeneration has been held up as a model other towns can follow - something the Royal Town Planning Institute judges recognised when they called it “not only innovative but replicable throughout the country.”
These awards reflect the work of everyone involved; the council teams, architects, developers and partners who turned a long-term vision into places people are proud of.
