ESCAPE-pain classes for chronic pain and arthritis

ESCAPE-pain stands for Enabling Self-management and Coping with Arthritic Pain using Exercise. 

It's a rehabilitation programme for people with chronic joint pain – often labelled osteoarthritis – that integrates education and exercise.

If you live with hip or knee pain, join our ESCAPE-pain class and meet other people living with osteoarthritis. 

In our classes, run by trained ESCAPE-Pain facilitators, you will be given:

  • Information and simple ways to better manage knee and/or hip pain.
  • A gentle, individualized exercise programme that matches your needs and pace.

How to join

You'll need to request a referral from a physio or your GP, and must live in the Wokingham Borough.

Venue and classes

Venue: Health and Wellbeing Centre, situated within Bulmershe Leisure Centre, Woodlands Avenue, RG5 3EU

Provider: Wokingham Borough Council

Sessions: 2 per week on Tuesday and Friday

Cost: £40 for 12 sessions
