I would like to request the following information in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act, relating to working from home policies.

1. How many employees in your organisation work from home (work from home being more than 5 hours per day) more than once a week?
Wokingham Borough Council employees are entitled to work from home as employees are afforded the flexibility of a hybrid working environment.

2. The number of employees in your organisation and, of these, the number able to perform their work remotely (i.e., not those who are front-line workers) and the number who have started returning to in person work.
Wokingham Borough Council has a headcount of 1436 as of the start of February 2023. There are, on average, around 50 persons who are here 100% of the time as they cannot perform their role remotely.

Our data is obtained by doing a headcount at a pre-set time every day. Throughout January 2023, we had on average 960 employees access the Wokingham Borough Council building, however this could consist of some employees accessing the building more than once a week.

3. What percentage of time, per week, are employees in your organisation entitled to work from home?
There is no contractual percentage of time allowed. Work is underway to develop a policy around hybrid working.
