Yes, although only the country where they have come from.

* The term migrant refers to families or children who recently moved to the UK from a foreign country so that the UK effectively becomes their new country of usual residence. They can have different migration status in the UK (refugees, asylum-seekers, regular migrants on work or family visas, undocumented migrants). This is based on the definition used by the Office of National Statistics: “a person who moves to a country other than that of his or her usual residence for a period of at least a year (12 months), so that the country of destination effectively becomes his or her new country of usual residence”. In this FOI request, I am interested in migrants who recently arrived in your area.

3. Of the recently arrived migrant girls between 14 and 18 years old, how many*:
We only receive application for pupils joining schools up to the age of 16. Individual schools receive applications for pupils in years 12 and 13 (sixth form)
a) Started education within 4 weeks: From those applying to start in this academic year 202+2/23 there were 20 girls between the ages of 14 – 16 who were allocated within 4 weeks.
b) Started education between 4 weeks and 3 months: From those applying to start in the academic year 2022/23 there were 2 girls between the ages of 14-16 who were allocated to start within 4 weeks to 3 months.
c) Started education after 3 months or more: 0
d) Entered education in a secondary school/academy:There were 22 girls aged 14 – 16 who were allocated to secondary school/academy schools in this timeframe.
e) Entered education in a college: We do not allocate to college.
f) Entering education in an Alternative Provision: We do not allocate to alternative provision.
*If data cannot be disaggregated by gender and age, please include information for the overall number of migrant children entering secondary school or college

a) In the past three academic years, how often have recently arrived migrant children been referred to the Fair Access Protocol in place: So far, this academic year 25 applications from migrant families that were referred to FAP. The last academic year there were 13 applications from migrant families that were referred to FAP.
b) Once it had been decided that a recently arrived migrant child was to be placed via the FAP, how many of them have been allocated a school place within 20 days? How many have been allocated a school place after 20 days?
2022/23 academic year 20 applications allocated within 20 school days and 5 outside of 20 school days.
2021/22 academic year 10 applications allocated within 20 school days and 3 outside of 20 school days.
