1. Within your council, please provide the documented tree-planting strategy for the whole of 2024?
See attached file - the Councils published Tree Strategy.

2. Within your council, how many trees did the council have the goal of planting for the whole of 2024?
10,000 trees.

3. Within your council, what was the tree-planting budget for the whole of 2024?
In 2024, new tree planting by the Council was carried out through a dedicated Climate Emergency Action Plan (CEAP) target. Tree planting seasons run from November – March each year so the numbers of trees and cost of planting in 2024 spans two planting seasons. The costs below include all costs associated with new tree planting; ground survey work, design work, purchase costs (for trees, guards, stakes, weed control), contractor costs and early establishment maintenance.

See above.

6. Within your authority area, from the beginning of 2023 to the end of 2024, how many planted trees have failed/died?
Trees are planted across the borough through a range of projects and planning schemes. Any trees that are planted by developers as part of approved planning schemes will be subject to a maintenance regime as part of the planning condition whereby developers will be required to replace any failed trees within the next planting season if they have failed within their establishment period. We do not retain records of the number of trees across all projects or planning schemes that have failed as these will be managed through either the planning process (if they are related to a planning scheme) or by the relevant project team.
