I would like to make a freedom of information request for the following information held by your council:

1. How many street lights does your council operate as of 1 April 2021?
15,662 no. Highway Lighting units plus 861 no. non-highway Amenity units - this is based on data taken 15/7/21.

2. How many street lights did your council operate as of 1 April 2018?
15,486 no. Highway Lighting units plus 808 no. non-highway Amenity units - this is based on data taken 6/4/18.

a) Do you dim or turn off any of your street lights between certain hours of the night as of 1 April 2021?
2,008 no. combined part-night and dimming, 13 no. part-night only (no dimming) and 13,773 dimming only (no part-night) - this is based on data taken 15/7/21.
b) If so, how many of your street lights does this affect?
c) If so, what hours are they affected?
Dimming 22:30 to 6:30 and part-night 0:30 to 5:30 – this is the general arrangement however there are some localised differences.

a) Do you dim or turn off any of your street lights between certain hours of the night as of 1 April 2018?
b) If so, how many of your street lights did this affect?
1,901 no. combined part-night and dimming, 34 no. part-night only (no dimming) and 12,836 dimming only (no part-night) - this is based on data taken 6/4/18.
c) If so, what hours were they affected?
Dimming 22:30 to 6:30 and part-night 0:30 to 5:30 – this is the general arrangement however there are some localised differences.

5. What is the council's annual budget for street lighting as of 1 April 2021?
£924,970 combined maintenance and energy budgets (please note that this includes maintenance budget for highway lighting, illuminated signs and bollards plus the energy budget for these as well as traffic signals and Council owned amenity lighting).

6. What was the council's annual budget for street lighting as of 1 April 2018?
£912,940 combined maintenance and energy budgets (please note that this includes maintenance budget for highway lighting, illuminated signs and bollards plus the energy budget for these as well as traffic signals and Council owned amenity lighting).
