I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to request the following information from your organisation:

1. How many complaints relating to housing has your organisation received in the past five years (January 2016 to present)? How many of these cases are ongoing? [Please could you provide the data for each year e.g. 2016 “X” number of complaints, 2017 “X” number of complaints.]
These include the formal complaints logged at stage 1 and 2.
End of Financial Year 2016 (April 2015 to March 2016): 52
End of Financial Year 2017 (April 2016 to March 2017): 41
End of Financial Year 2018 (April 2017 to March 2018): 42
End of Financial Year 2019 (April 2018 to March 2019): 53
End of Financial Year 2020 (April 2019 to March 2020): 36
End of Financial Year 2021 (April 2020 to March 2021): 47 with 2 ongoing cases.

2. How many staff members do you have working as part of your complaints resolution team or equivalent team?
1 Customer Care Officer who works solely on complaints, enquiries and FOIs/SARs monitoring and 1 Manager of the Customer Care Officer who doesn’t work solely on complaints.

3. How many social housing tenants (council house and housing association tenants) does your council have? How many social housing dwellings/properties (council house and housing association dwellings/properties) does your council have?
It changes almost monthly but the last figure we have is 2,597 as the total number of HRA Council Houses. Current figures for WHL (LHC) are 184 properties.

4. How much money has your organisation spent on housing repairs and maintenance each year for the past five years (Jan 2016-present)? [Please could you provide the data for each year e.g. 2016 “X” number, 2017 “X” number]
2016: £7.2m
2017: £7.3m
2018: £6.4m
2019: £6.6m
2020: £6.0m

Note, these are the budget figures, in some cases actual expenditure in year was less than stated but any underspend was carried forward and used in the following year. The figure for 2020 is an estimate because the final year end figures have not been finalised.
