1. How do we access up-to-date information on Wokingham Social Care Grant funding information?
The funding is distributed to the Council as part of the Local Government Finance Settlement which is announced in December each year. More information about this is on the .gov website.
According to the government website, Wokingham has been allocated £7.1M in the Social Care Grant for 2024/25, with £5.4M rolled over from previous years. We’d also greatly appreciate your insights on the following:
2. How much of this funding is allocated to care homes? A rough estimate is fine i.e. 10-30%, 50-70%?
Our total funding including this grant will be spent on social care dependent on the eligible needs of our residents.
3. How do care homes currently access funding information?
The Council commission packages of care for residents for those with eligible needs and will contract with providers and pay the rate agreed with them.
4. Does this information change frequently?
The needs of our residents is constantly changing so yes.
5. Is it challenging for your team to provide updated funding information?

This grant supports the ongoing funding of the Council and is determined each year to support the needs of our residents.
