Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, please provide the following information relating to SEN & Mainstream home to school transport commissioned by the council. Please provide data for the academic years 2022/23, 2023/24, 2024/25, and the current academic year to date where available.
Please provide the information in Excel or CSV format . I am requesting aggregated and anonymised data only. Where exact figures cannot be disclosed for reasons of commercial sensitivity or personal data, please provide the information in summary or banded form.
1. The total annual spend on SEN and Mainstream home to school transport.
2. The total number of pupils receiving SEN and Mainstream home-to-school transport.
3. The total number of SEN and Mainstream transport routes/journeys commissioned.
4. The number of pupils or routes that are solo transport versus shared transport.
5. The number of pupils or routes requiring passenger assistants/escorts.
6. The number of routes or pupils by vehicle type, for example saloon, MPV, WAV, minibus, or other.
7. The average route mileage and average route duration.
8. The number of routes in mileage bands: 0–5, 5–10, 10–15, 15–20, and 20+ miles.
9. The average cost per route/journey.
10. The average cost by mileage band.
11. The average cost for solo routes versus shared routes.
12. The average cost for routes with escorts versus routes without escorts.
13. The highest, median, and lowest annual route cost.
14. The number of active operators used for SEN and Mainstream home-to-school transport.
15. The number of SEN and Mainstream routes tendered each year.
16. The average number of bids received per route or tender.
17. The number of routes receiving no bids, one bid only, and two or more bids.
18. The number of routes re-tendered or handed back by operators.
19. The spend on temporary or emergency SEN and Mainstream transport arrangements.
20. The number of transported pupils or routes by destination school, and by pickup postcode district or ward.
21. What month do most contracts get awarded.
22. What month do most contracts get rewarded due to lack of oversight e.g. buyers cannot fulfil them.
