Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I am formally making a Freedom of Information request about the road surfacing of Backsideans in Wargrave carried out in April 2022. Details of what I am requesting follow.

1. I would like to know the full cost of the Backsideans surfacing works. To include staffing, vehicles, works, materials.
The value for the total cost of the works is £26,683.65 Ex VAT. Please note this is not the final value from the contractor and may be subject to further adjustment.

2. I would like to obtain a copy of the most recent annual engineering survey of road conditions prior to the work on Backsideans being carried out. I only need roads in Wargrave. Specifically, on Backsideans.
Backsideans, Wargrave, along with all other unclassified roads in Wokingham Borough, is regularly surveyed by Coarse Visual Inspection (CVI), which Is the mandatory method for the assessment of the unclassified road network. 3. I am requesting any internal documentation, meeting minutes and/or internal correspondence relating specifically to discussion and approval of the Backsideans works at local Council member, relevant Council committee or full Council level.
Wokingham Borough’s annual road resurfacing programmes are based on condition survey data, and the Wokingham Borough Executive Member for Highways is informed about the latest annual works programme to be delivered by the end of March. The works programme is then published on the main Wokingham Borough website as soon as practical by the Wokingham Borough Communications team.

4. I would like to know which councillors or committee(s) review and approve the Wokingham carriageway works programme. I'd like to know when Backsideans was approved, despite its exclusion in the formal document. I'd like to be advised whether any specific, separate approval process was provided for Backsideans. If so, by which councillor or councillors.
As explained above, the Wokingham Borough annual road resurfacing programmes are based on condition survey data, and the Wokingham Borough Executive Member for Highways is informed about the latest annual works programme to be delivered by the end of March. The works programme is then published on the main Wokingham Borough website as soon as practical by the Wokingham Borough Communications team, and then updated throughout the year with any changes. Wokingham Borough were able to make some savings in delivering the 2021/2022 works programme, and so released more ready-designed schemes to be delivered in 2021/2022, while following the priority calculated from condition survey data.

5. I am requesting information about the process of publication of the 2021-22 and 2022-23 carriageway works programme, which was made available at the time of the programme launch, and is still online. Backsideans is not included. I would like to know which councillor or council employee approves this list.

6. I am also requesting any correspondence specific to the Backsideans resurfacing between Backsideans residents and Wokingham councillors, or the Council itself, between Jan 1 2018 and the works being completed. I am happy for any resident's name to be redacted to protect their privacy.
