I’m writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. I would like to request the following information:

1. Do schools in your authority currently receive training in race and anti-racism?
There is an offer of training from the local authority (funded by the LA and offered to schools free of charge) which schools can engage with if they wish to.

2. If yes:
a) Is this training mandatory? No
b) Is the training conducted by a specialist external provider? Yes. Network meetings are facilitated by Local Authority officers, but training sessions are delivered by external providers.
c) Is the training conducted by somebody already employed by the school providing the training? Schools may decide that a member of their staff will deliver training for their colleagues, or will cascade training they have attended, but the training provided by the local authority is delivered by external providers rather than staff who are employed in schools.
