1. I require all the written financial assessments and business case regarding the creation of three Wokingham Borough Council non statutory Political Assistant posts.

This should include but not limited to those submitted from the 3 political parties.

A business case is attached for the Labour Group Political Assistant who was recruited in 2025. We have redacted the names of the members of staff that deal with admin work in each of the directorates at the Council under Section 40. Nothing else has been redacted from the document. Section 40 is an absolute exemption so no public interest test has been completed.

We do not hold business cases for the other two Political Assistants. These two posts were recruited on the basis that support and assistance was required for the two largest political party groupings on the Council.
