1. Disability employment schemes provide essential support for disabled people to find and maintain employment. Is your council signed up to one or more disability employment schemes, such as Disability Confident?
Yes we are a disability confident accredited employer

2. Please provide a copy of your policy and procedures in place that outline the council’s approach to the identification and implementation of reasonable adjustments for disabled employees in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
They are listed within the policies we have for each aspect of employee relations so it will vary depending on what situation we are in. There is not a set policy for reasonable adjustments.

3. Does your council provide training or education for managers and employees relating to disability awareness and about the process for the implementation of reasonable adjustments for the councils’ disabled employees in accordance with the Equality Act 2010?
Yes - There are no set documents but when we run training programmes for a policy is will cover off RAs on a policy basis. We are looking at more bespoke disability awareness in the future.

4. Do your procurement policies require private contracts to demonstrate a commitment to promote disability equality and provide regular reports on how they are achieving this? If yes – do you also ask which disability employment schemes they have signed up to?
At Wokingham Borough Council, we expect our suppliers to adhere to our council policies, including those related to disability equality. However, we do not have a specific procurement policy that mandates contracts to demonstrate a commitment to disability equality or to report on their progress in this area. Instead, our requirements are considered on a case-by-case basis and are tailored to the nature of the contract being entered into. This approach allows us to ensure that each contract addresses the specific needs and circumstances relevant to that particular agreement.
