The total payments from the general fund to the pension fund in 24/25 was approximately £12.876m (schools and the housing revenue account have been removed where possible). The council tax requirement for 24/25 was £141.641m, which makes the pension fund payments 9% of the council tax requirement. It should be noted that the council has several sources of income which fund its expenditure, not just council tax, and therefore we are not stating that 9% of council tax revenue is spent on payments to the pension fund.

It should be noted that the council has several sources of income which fund its expenditure, not just council tax, and therefore we are not stating that we estimate 8.7% of council tax revenue will be spent on payments to the pension fund in 25/26.

The council tax requirement for 24/25 was £141.641m, which makes the debt interest payments 2.4% of the council tax requirement. It should be noted that the council has several sources of income which fund its expenditure, not just council tax, and therefore we are not stating that 2.4% of council tax revenue is spent on debt interest payments.
