1. The number of parking tickets issued to individuals for exceeding the designated 4-hour parking limit in Wokingham Town Centre over the past 12 months.
We only have two Wokingham Town car parks limited to 4-hour maximum stay, below are the number of PCNs issued for code 80 - Parked for longer than permitted for Financial Year 24 - 25
Denmark Street Car Park: 78
Easthampstead Road West Car Park: 17

2. How many complaints you have received from concerned citizens about this wholly counter-intuitive fine.
We have received no complaints relating to the 4 hour maximum stay in the two town centre car parks.

3. Any strategic surveys or studies conducted by the council that support the enforcement of the 4-hour parking limit in Wokingham Town Centre as being good for the overall benefit of the town’s financial viability
There are no current surveys or studies carried out by the council. Car parks are defined as short stay or long stay. The council uses the maximum duration of stay to encourage long stay parking towards the edges of town centres and short stay parking within the town centres as is the approach adopted by many other local authorities. Short-stay car parks provide for a turnover of vehicles, allowing visitors to have more available car parking nearer to the town centre, shops and amenities. The principle includes shortest stay in the Town Centre with long-stay car parks at Carnival Pool and Easthampstead Road East Car Parks (5 - 7min walk), as well as Park, ‘Stride’ and Ride at Coppid Beech.
