I am emailing regarding overcrowding in council-owned or council-managed properties. Please can you supply the below, in Excel or spreadsheet format, for the last five years up to present records (2018-now). I am happy for this to be supplied as 2018/19, 2019/20, 2020/21, 2021/22, 2022/present.

1. The number of households living in overcrowded properties, as defined by Section 325 of the Housing Act 1985, per year
We cannot provide this information in line with that definition as our overcrowding on the housing register is not the same legal definition as outlined. In addition any information would be inaccurate as not every council tenant is registered on the housing register.

2. The number of council-owned or council-managed properties in the authority, per year if this number has changed over the five year time span
March 2019: 3012
March 2020: 3016
March 2021: 3029
March 2022: 3033
Present: 3127

3. Average waiting times for a household to be moved to a larger property per year
We do not produce average wait times as we run an individual short list for each void property against those that are eligible for that specific property and have that area of choice selected, in order of banding and waiting time.
