1. Under the Freedom of Information Act, I would like to request the number of street works and road works carried out by both the council and third parties such as utility companies for the 2021/22 financial year.
The number of street works and road works started by both the council and third parties such as utility companies in the 2021/22 financial year is 5,331.

2. If possible, I would also like to know the cost to the council for the applicable works carried out.
The direct costs of street works and road works including highways maintenance for WBC for financial year 21/22 are circa £9,203,000. This excludes the council’s staffing and overhead costs on the basis that it’s not possible to accurately estimate the portion relating to street works/road works administration.
