Please provide the following information regarding the speed limit changes:
1. A copy of the consultation (and any related documents)
Our Highways Traffic manager provided the following response, the consultation period commenced on the 14th November 2024 and ended on 6th December 2024. The notice of intent necessary to start this consultation was published in the Wokingham Today newspaper and online. Further, this information was published on the Wokingham Borough Council website (https://www.wokingham.gov.uk/roads/traffic-management-and-road-safety/traffic-regulation-orders-tros), notices of intent were placed on site and documents were available for view at the Wokingham Borough Council offices at Shute End.I am also aware that this proposal was covered by both local and national news sources. Also attached a copy of the notice of intent indicating the start of the consultation period.
2. The amount of money that these changes have cost/costing
The final cost measure for this scheme has not yet been undertaken so it is not possible to provide this information at this time.
3. The number of residents who requested the speed limit change
These amendments were proposed by officers in line with the Council’s commitment promoting safe and sustainable travel, as well as to enhance road safety.
4. Which councillors requested this change
The Executive Member for Highways and Transport at the time, Cllr Paul Fishwick requested this change be investigated.
