At the Executive meeting on the 29th January 2021, the Lead Member for Planning, in replying to a question from Councillor Caroline Smith, stated that Wokingham Borough Council had sent out over 10,000 letters to residents concerning Planning Applications near to their residences. He inferred there may be an issue with Royal Mail delivers in Earley.

1. Please can Wokingham Borough Council state how many neighbour notification letters have been sent specifically to the residents of the three Earley Unitary wards of Hawkdon, Maiden Erlegh and Hillside and Whiteknights part of ETC advising residents that their neighbours had applied for planning permission in the last 12 months and also of those, how many were not related to major developments?
In the past 12 months, 2151 ‘neighbour notifications’ have been sent for properties within Hawkdon, Maiden Erlegh, Hillside and Bulmershe & Whitegates wards. Taking the standard definition for major, minor and other development, of the total amount; 2057 were not related to major development.
