Please may you provide me with:

1. The number of Primary Schools in your Local Authority area that has a non-teaching, dedicated mental health specialist, to provide mental health support to students.
2. The number of Secondary Schools in your Local Authority area that has a non-teaching, dedicated mental health specialist, to provide mental health support to students.

Wokingham Borough Council do not hold this information. Schools are defined as a separate entity under the Freedom of Information Act and would need to be contacted directly for that information.

All schools have access to the Emotional Wellbeing Hub and the Primary Mental Health Team 4 Youth who provide support for those with mild to moderate mental health difficulties. All schools are encouraged to have a Senior Mental Health Lead, but these would likely be teachers and involved in teaching as well as other school duties. They are encouraged to take up the national training offered by DfE and NHS England. Some schools commission additional resources such as trained counsellors or invest in programmes such as Mental Health First Aiders or Nurture Assistants. This information may be on schools websites.
