Our Commercial Property team have advised that this information is exempt from disclosure under Freedom of Information Section 31, the prevention and detection of crime. They have carried out a Public Interest Test and this doesn't outweigh disclosure of the information. They believe that providing empty properties into the public domain could allow them to be targetted and have spoken with our Insurance team to get their viewpoint on what would occur if this information was disclosed. They have advised that individuals seeking to discuss empty properties to use can contact them directly to discuss so there are other avenues to explore rather than via the FOI route.
