The Environment Agency has commissioned organisations to collect information on flood impacts that will be summarised to calculate the economic costs of flooding in England and Wales. This information will be used to inform funding and investment decisions in flood and coastal erosion risk management. This will also contribute to development of a process for collecting flood impact information in the future that will allow the Environment Agency to analyse and summarise flood damages more quickly after a flood occurs. This is a request for information on floods and flood impacts that occurred between November 2019 and March 2020.

1. The types of information we would like to collect from your organisation are:

a) Information on the locations and dates of flooding
Waterloo Cottage, Knowl Hill and 3 Arborfield Grange, Arborfield.

b) Information on the source(s) of flooding (e.g. river, coastal, surface water, groundwater, reservoir)
Surface water.

c) Information on depth of flooding (in metres)
0.3m.

d) Information by location and date about what was impacted during the flooding:
i. Number of residential and commercial properties flooded (by type of property where available)
2 residential and no commercial.

ii. Number of people displaced from their homes due to flooding
Three.

iii. Number of people provided temporary accommodation
None.

iv. Number of vehicles flooded
None.

v. Number of local authority assets impacted by flooding and associated damage/repair costs
None.

vi. Number/length of flood infrastructure assets impacted by flooding and associated damage/repair costs
Culvert across Bath Road, Knowl Hill was blocked and needed to be cleared of silt and roots and the receiving ditch cleaned out. CCTV survey commissioned. Total costs of associated works for CCTV, Culvert replacement and ditching £19,600.00

vii. Number/length of transport assets impacted by flooding and duration of disruption (road, rail, airports, and ports). Also, associated damage/repair costs to transport assets/infrastructure
Three roads disrupted /1km in length, approx three days disruption.

viii. Number of education facilities (schools/colleges/universities) flooded and associated damage/repair costs
None.

ix. Number of heritage assets (such as listed buildings and designated sites) impacted by flooding and associated damage/repair costs
None.

x. Cost of government support to fund flood recovery (e.g. grants provided)
